In specific, genetic analyses showcased three geographically separated herds in Lemnos which are situated at mountainous regions of the area and generally are characterized as associates of this neighborhood sheep by historical information and reports. Admixture analysis also revealed a shared hereditary back ground between Lemnos and Lesvos sheep attributable to past gene flow.
